German Football League - Kramaric talks about Hoffenheim's atmosphere: At times, the tension can be lacking.
Andrej Kramaric, a Croatian footballer playing for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, has expressed his thoughts on the luxurious conditions provided to football players at the club. "It's a curse and a blessing at the same time," he said in an interview with the headquarters publication "Spielfeld." Kramaric, aged 32, blames this peaceful atmosphere in the Kraichgau region for sometimes being too comfortable, resulting in an absence of pressure.
"We love it here; it feels like home, like a family," Kramaric stated. But, he admits that this close-knit connection comes with risks. "Sometimes we lack that pressure which can push you to show strength and character." He believes that internal pressure is critical in molding one's character.
"The club needs to grow," Kramaric asserted. "Hoffenheim is in a great position right now, boasting excellent resources. However, such growth doesn't occur overnight." Kramaric acknowledges the club's impressive performance during the previous season, where they placed seventh in the league and qualified for the Europa League for the fifth time.
The competition marks another milestone in the club's history, who were once a small village club. Despite the decent finale, the team faced some turbulent moments in the past season. "We need to work on and reduce those performance fluctuations," said Kramaric, reiterating his desire to improve the team's performance.
Besides his commitments to the team, Kramaric has been selected to represent his country in the European Championships in Germany this year. "We're eagerly looking forward to it," the footballer added.
