Köstritzer Spiegelzelt Festival looks back on 20 years

Entertainment in the historic mirror tent made of velvet and wood: the Köstritzer Spiegelzelt Festival celebrates an anniversary next year. In 2024, the festival can look back on 20 years. From May 1 to June 16, bands, solo artists and cabaret performers are expected to return to Weimar. The program includes Anna Depenbusch, Maybebop, Christian Ehring and Katrin Sass. Advance sales have now started, the organizers announced on Friday.

"The then supposedly 'crazy' idea of renting a mirror tent from Belgium and having it land like a UFO on Beethovenplatz for two months has become an established and well-attended festival," the press release said. At the first edition in 2004, 270 guests were counted, last year around 15,600 came.

The festival's anniversary next year is a great opportunity to celebrate two decades of bringing music to Weimar. Visitors should also consider the tourism aspect, as the city becomes a hub for music lovers during the Köstritzer Spiegelzelt Festival.
