Koch about to return to Eintracht - Rode still missing
Eintracht Frankfurt can hope for the timely return of defender Robin Koch ahead of the important international match. The 27-year-old completed his final training session in Frankfurt on Wednesday and could therefore make his comeback on Thursday (21:00/RTL) in the Conference League against PAOK Saloniki. Koch has been suffering from a calf injury and last played for the Bundesliga club on November 4. Eintracht will be aiming to win their group against the visitors from Greece. Both clubs will definitely be spending the winter in Europe.
Sebastian Rode was once again absent from training in cold and wet conditions. The captain is also complaining of calf problems and has hardly featured so far this season. "The longer you're out, the longer it takes you to get back into the rhythm," coach Dino Toppmöller said of the 33-year-old last week. Eintracht (nine points) need a home win against league leaders Thessaloniki (ten) to move up to first place in the group. The first leg in Greece was lost 2-1 by the Hessians in October.
Eintracht Frankfurt's defender Robin Koch might make his return in the Conference League match against PAOK Saloniki, as he completed his final training session with the team. Despite Eintracht's aims to secure a group win against the Greek side, midfielder Sebastian Rode continues to miss training due to persistent calf issues.
