Knife attack on 48-year-old man: Suspect arrested

Following a knife attack on a 48-year-old man on Thursday evening, the police have arrested a man suspected of the crime. The 47-year-old reported himself to the police by telephone during the night, a spokesman said on Friday morning.

Alexanderplatz - Knife attack on 48-year-old man: Suspect arrested

Following a knife attack on a 48-year-old man on Thursday evening, the police have arrested a man suspected of the crime. The 47-year-old reported himself to the police by telephone during the night, a spokesman said on Friday morning.

The injured man had drawn attention to himself at Alexanderplatz subway station on Thursday evening. He was taken to hospital with serious stab wounds and immediately operated on. According to the police, his life is no longer in danger.

According to initial findings, the two men had previously got into an argument in Hagenstraße in Berlin-Lichtenberg and punched each other. The suspect then allegedly stabbed the 48-year-old. Officers arrested the suspect at the alleged crime scene in Lichtenberg. The criminal investigation department is investigating the exact course of events in the case of dangerous bodily harm.
