A 30-year-old man appeared before the Berlin Regional Court on Thursday (9:30 AM) following a fatal stabbing at a wedding celebration. He is accused of stabbing a 29-year-old man, who was also a guest at the celebration held at a local establishment in the Kreuzberg district, believing him to be his wife's lover. Prior to the incident, the 30-year-old allegedly choked and beat his wife, and coerced her into making false accusations against the 29-year-old. The charges against him include manslaughter, dangerous bodily harm, and coercion.

According to the prosecution, on December 29th of last year, the defendant initially threw a glass at the 29-year-old, who reportedly refused to have a private conversation with the 30-year-old. The defendant then allegedly pulled out a knife and first injured a then 25-year-old man who was trying to intervene, stabbing him in the thigh. He then stabbed the presumed rival in the left chest, causing fatal injuries. Nine trial days have been scheduled for the proceedings.

The defendant's alleged actions at the wedding celebration resulted in a charge of manslaughter, as he fatally stabbed the man believed to be his wife's lover. Despite initially trying to coerce his wife into making false accusations against the victim, the confrontation escalated into a deadly incident.
