Miroslav Klose is still feeling the effects of their loss to Magdeburg. Even a night has passed, and that crushing defeat hasn't left his mind just yet. The 2014 World Cup champ expressed his feelings post their 0-4 (0-1) defeat in the 2nd Bundesliga, saying, "It's been a tough pill to swallow." His team, Nuremberg, underperformed in terms of energy and tackling.

Captain Robin Knoche wasn't pleased with the outcome either, calling it a "crappy result." He added, "Dirty tackling like that, after losing 0-2, it's just unacceptable, even for a young team." They'll work on addressing this issue internally.

Klose often speaks about the lack of intensity

The team suffered a one-sided loss in a match filled with critical video referee decisions, following a lackluster performance against a more experienced opponent. Klose pointed out, "We didn't have enough energy during transitions." He also noted, "We were too vulnerable in defense."

A goal appeared out of nowhere. Martijn Kaars bodied past Florian Flick during the tackle, resulting in Xavier Amaechi's rebound goal against Jan Reichert (in goal for Nuremberg) in the 24th minute. The goal stood after a VAR review.

The penalty call gets cancelled

The referee from Cologne got involved again in the 38th minute. A penalty call against Nuremberg was controversially overturned due to the VAR's decision to rule out Jean Hugonet's foul on Lukas Schleimer.

Livan Burcu sealed the team's second league defeat for Klose with a clean shot from the edge of the box in front of 31,581 spectators who barely made a sound in opposition. Alexander Nollenberger (84th) and Philipp Hercher (90+2) secured the home team's misery.

"We're all disappointed"

"We're missing consistency. We have phases that look promising, but they're over too quickly," lamented Finn Jeltsch, the 18-year-old central defender who almost equalized in the 54th minute following a corner attempt. Klose echoed these thoughts, saying, "We need more intensity, we have to make runs for no apparent reason." Jeltsch and the rest of the team were disappointed with the performance.

Nuremberg faces Ulm on September 14th as they look to turn things around. Klose will be pushing his team hard in training until then. He criticized the poor tackling of his substitutes, saying, "It has nothing to do with professional football."

Knoche expects his team to show significant progress when they return after a two-week hiatus. "The guys have a great character and eagerness to learn. I believe in them," he promised, explaining, "otherwise I wouldn't have joined the team."

After the disappointing 0-4 loss in the Second Bundesliga, Miroslav Klose highlighted the team's lack of energy during transitions and vulnerability in defense. In the following match against Ulm on September 14th, Klose will be urging his team to show improvement and address their poor tackling, suggesting it's not up to professional standards.
