- Klose appoints newcomer Bone as Nuremberg captain
Miroslav Klose has appointed Robin Knoche as the new captain of 1. FC Nuremberg just before the start of the new season. Midfielder Florian Flick (24) and goalkeeper Jan Reichert (23) have been named as his deputies. Knoche, who joined the club from 1. FC Union Berlin, brings extensive experience to the role, having played over 300 Bundesliga games and gained experience in the Champions League and Europa League.
Klose praised Knoche, saying, "Robin brings everything I could wish for in a captain. He's impressive on and off the pitch, sets a great example with his attitude and takes responsibility for the entire team."
Knoche will lead the newly assembled "Club" team for the first time this Saturday (13:00 CET) in an away game against Karlsruhe SC. "It's a great honor to lead 1. FC Nuremberg as captain. I know the responsibility that comes with this role, and I'm committed to fulfilling it to the best of my ability," said the professional player.
Klose and sporting director Joti Chatzialexiou had recruited Knoche as a leader in the team. Flick and Reichert also take on new roles. "With Flo and Jan, we have two deputies who we want to grow in this role. Flo is a role model in every training session, and this is the next logical step for him," said Klose. The youngest of the trio is Reichert, who was nominated as a representative of the young players. "Jan completes the team as a representative of the younger generation. This will also help him grow further," believes Klose.
The following paragraphs are added to acknowledge the upcoming matches and the roles of Flick and Reichert. Flick and Reichert, as the deputies to Knoche, will be crucial in supporting him during matches.
