Premier League - Klopp: Joel Matip ruptures cruciate ligament
Former Bundesliga professional Joel Matip has torn his anterior cruciate ligament and will probably not be able to help Liverpool FC this season. Coach Jürgen Klopp announced the injury on Wednesday evening at the press conference following the 2-0 defeat to bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United. "Unfortunately, I expected that," he said. "It's very unfortunate." The defender, who trained at FC Schalke 04, had been substituted after 69 minutes in the hard-fought 4-3 win over FC Fulham three days earlier. The 32-year-old from Bochum has 27 caps for Cameroon.
