King Charles honors K-Pop band Blackpink
The British King Charles III has honored the South Korean girl band Blackpink. The four musicians Jennie Kim, Jisoo Kim, Lisa Manobal and Rose Park are now members of the Order of the British Empire. This is to recognize their commitment to climate protection at the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland, in 2021.
The 75-year-old Charles honored the women at Buckingham Palace in London. During a changing of the guard, their song "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du" was also played, as reported by the PA news agency.

The MBE - "Member of the Order of the British Empire" - is one of the lower ranks in the British Order of Merit system. Charles had already paid tribute to South Korean pop culture on Tuesday evening at a state banquet for President Yoon Suk Yeol, who is on a state visit to the UK.
- The honor bestowed upon Blackpink by King Charles marks a significant moment in the intersection of Music and Nobility, as they join the distinguished ranks of the Order of the British Empire.
- The recognition of Blackpink's Nobility extends beyond just their Music, with their commitment to environmental causes, like their work at the UN Climate Change Conference, gaining notable attention.
- Monarchy and K-Pop may seem like unrelated worlds, but the honor received by Blackpink from King Charles showcases how the Influence of People like them can bridge these gaps, spreading the love for Music and climate advocacy globally.
