Musical compositions - Kiev Symphony Orchestra settles down in Monheim.

Starting from February 2022, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the orchestra embarked on a foreign tour. In order to draw attention to the serious circumstances at home and to resist the wiping out of Ukrainian culture through military attacks from Russia, the orchestra should be granted the chance to participate in international concerts in Monheim.

Monheim's housing construction company has agreed to offer housing for the 130 Ukrainian women and men who will move to Monheim in late July. As per Mayor Zimmermann, "By accommodating the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra's stay in Monheim am Rhein, we are presenting humanitarian aid and enabling the orchestra to stay visible and audible."

The orchestra's director, Oleksandr Zaitsev, expressed his gratitude towards Monheim am Rhein and the individuals responsible for inviting them. He further stated, "The city of Monheim am Rhein's decision to welcome the orchestra is a tangible demonstration of guarding Ukrainian culture. It's a manifestation of how we're uniting to uphold higher human values."

The Kiev Symphony Orchestra, displaced due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, will find temporary home in North Rhine-Westphalia's Monheim on the Rhine starting February 2022. This decision by Monheim's officials serves as a form of humanitarian aid and keeps the orchestra audible and visible.

The symphony orchestra, originally from Ukraine's capital Kiev, will be residing in Monheim am Rhein for an undisclosed period, allowing them to continue performing music as a symbol of resilience. Daniel Zimmermann, the mayor of Monheim, warmly welcomed the orchestra, recognizing their role in preserving Ukrainian culture.

As part of their foreign tour, the orchestra will be performing in Monheim's concert halls, including the Philharmonie am Rhein and the Konzerthalle Düsseldorf. Their music will serve as a beacon of hope and unity, bringing together the residents of German cities like Cologne and Bonn with Ukraine's creative talents.

In a press statement, Oleksandr Zaitsev, the orchestra's director, thanked the people of Monheim and Germany for their support. He emphasized the importance of this collaboration, saying it represents a significant effort to safeguard Ukrainian culture and promote peace.

As the orchestra prepares for their performances in Monheim, they're also grateful for the offer of housing from the region's housing construction company. This advantageous arrangement will allow 130 Ukrainian musicians to settle in Monheim on the Rhine, fostering a lively and welcoming atmosphere in the city.

In response to the Russian invasion, the orchestra has decided to devote some of their concerts to raise awareness and funds for the Ukrainian people, hoping that the power of music can help bring an end to the conflict in Ukraine and restore peace in the region.
