Politics - Kiel state parliament discusses new regional plans
The state parliament in Kiel is discussing a revision of the regional plans today. In a motion, the FDP is calling for the drafts to be reformed in order to facilitate the designation of residential, commercial and industrial areas in particular. The parliamentary group is also calling for a definition of the specific goals behind the "climate-neutral industrial state" strategy.
According to the motion, the regional plans specify how the settlement structure, open spaces and infrastructure should develop in the three planning areas in the state. They include, for example, settlement axes, tourism areas and supra-regional locations for industrial estates.
