- Kessler twins: "Never addicted to men"

World-renowned Kessler twins have openly discussed their love lives, stating that marriage was never an option for them. "We never relied on men," Alice Kessler revealed just before her 88th birthday, speaking for the former show stars of "Bunte." Their independence was crucial, a value instilled in them since childhood. "Because our father was also a drunk who often beat and humiliated our mother," Ellen Kessler explained. "Domestic violence was a daily issue. We promised ourselves it wouldn't happen to us later."

"He was a macho through and through," Alice added. "That probably explains why we avoided such men in Paris at the Lido." Despite their successful careers as international dancers and singers, the sisters, once counted among the most beautiful women in the world, lived out their lives fully but remained each other's most important companions.

Their secrets to success? "Discipline, every day. Gratitude, again and again. Humility instead of pride. And togetherness, until the end," Alice listed in "Bunte." A healthy vanity helps one age well. "Those who are vain take care of themselves and don't let themselves go." Curiosity is also important, as is physical activity. "We can still do the splits and pull our legs over our heads," Ellen Kessler said. "Once learned, it's never forgotten, that's from ballet, we'll never stoop."

Despite their upbringing in a turbulent household in Germany, the Kessler twins managed to achieve international success in dancing and singing. Their successor, a popular German magazine "Bunte", highlighted their unique secrets to longevity and happiness, including their avoidance of harmful relationships due to their past experiences.
