Bundesliga - Kehl after next BVB setback: "Angry and frustrated"
After another setback for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, sporting director Sebastian Kehl has drawn a sobering conclusion and announced an in-depth analysis during the winter break.
"We are disappointed, angry and frustrated because we came up two points short," said Kehl after the 1:1 (1:1) draw at FC Augsburg, according to Ruhr Nachrichten. The runners-up are now five points behind VfB Stuttgart in fourth place in the Champions League, who play FC Bayern on Sunday. "That's not our ambition," said Kehl.
After the end of the season against FSV Mainz 05 on Tuesday, the sporting director wants to assess the situation at the Revierclub in detail. "Now we need three points against Mainz, then we will draw a conclusion and go into the analysis," said Kehl, and warned: "We must not lose sight of our minimum goal of the Champions League."
Kehl did not comment on the situation of coach Edin Terzic, who has recently come under criticism. TV pundit Lothar Matthäus, on the other hand, expects Terzic to be questioned at BVB during the winter break. "If such a round table is held, the coach will certainly also be discussed," said the 62-year-old on TV channel Sky. Dortmund are "far behind expectations, not just in terms of points, but above all in terms of performance. They're simply not performing, they haven't found themselves so far in this first half of the season."
