Equestrian sport - Katharina Hemmer wins Grand Prix Special in Frankfurt
Dressage rider Katharina Hemmer also won the Grand Prix Special at the Frankfurt Festhalle horse show on Saturday. The judges scored her performance on Denoix with 76.659 percent, which was easily enough for victory ahead of Benjamin Werndl (Aubenhausen) with Famoso (75.745) and Svenja Kämper-Meyer (Dülmen) with Amanyara M (71.702). The most successful dressage rider in the world, Isabell Werth from Rheinberg, came fourth with Superb (70.383).
Hemmer had already won the Grand Prix the day before. The 29-year-old works as a rider in Borchen in the stables of Hubertus Schmidt, who was team Olympic champion in 2004. She has been riding Denoix since the beginning of the year. The freestyle will take place on Sunday.
