2nd league - Karlsruher SC starts preparation with 21 players
At the training kick-off of Karlsruher SC, trainer Christian Eichner addressed the challenges for the Football League team. On Wednesday, integration was his top priority. "That's not always as easy as it sounds from the outside", said the KSC coach. The gaps from the management team's mandated regeneration program are noticeable.
"This is a group that is still coming together. That's not meant negatively. I know that a lot of work is being done to make it full", said Eichner. However, it brings nothing to sit in front of his table every day and say that there are still three or four missing. "The situation is as it currently presents itself", he says. Instead of tactical training, Eichner therefore plans to focus on running sessions in the coming days.
Numerous departures
The ten players who left the club were faced with Benedikt Bauer (SpVgg Unterhaching), Noah Rupp (FC Luzern II), Robin Heußer (SV Wehen Wiesbaden), and Aki Koch (FSV Mainz 05 II). With the help of four U19 and U23 auxiliary players, it just managed to put together a team for a game of Eleven versus Eleven in front of around 50 spectators. Inner defender Robin Bormuth only managed one running session.
Regular goalkeeper
The regular goalkeeper Patrick Drewes was absent because he was joining VfL Bochum. Eichner does not yet have any transfer plans of his own. "That was personally very important to me. The team should have reliability, the club should have reliability", emphasized he. The KSC's first test game will be on June 29 against FSV Kappelrodeck-Waldulm (13.00 Uhr), and the second on July 3 against SV Schluchtern (18.30 Uhr).
