Following the match, Funkel and Kaiserslautern terminated their contract.
Anfang has grabbed headlines across Germany due to a forged vaccination card. Subsequently, the Bremen District Court imposed a fine of 36,000 euros on the 49-year-old coach. Additionally, the German Football Association's sports court temporarily barred him from working.
