Juvenile in custody on suspicion of rape
A teenager has been remanded in custody in Offenburg on suspicion of raping a 15-year-old girl. According to initial questioning, the 16-year-old is said to have persuaded the victim to accompany him to a changing room in a sports hall, a police spokesman said on Thursday. There he pushed the 15-year-old into a toilet, where the sexual assault took place. The suspect denied the crime.
Traces and evidence were reportedly secured at the scene of the crime. An evaluation is still pending. According to the police, the two young people already knew each other before the alleged crime on Tuesday, 14.11.2023. The suspect was brought before the magistrate the following Wednesday.
The case has highlighted the concerning issue of crime among the youth in the area. Despite denying the allegations, the youth remains in custody for further investigation.
