The blaze in Jüterbog is largely under control now. "While there are still isolated pockets of heat, they're contained within our safety perimeter," expressed a representative from the Brandenburg Natural Landscapes Association. The association has kept a watchful eye on the situation since Monday. "Therefore, the site itself poses no threat, and the fire won't spread any further," they confirmed.

The incident of an inferno started unexpectedly on Thursday. buried artillery shells hampered the firefighting efforts. A helicopter was introduced to aid the cause. This location has seen such blazes in the past. As per the fire department's account, the fire engulfed approximately 180 hectares, with around 70 firefighters attending to it. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. Over the weekend, the forest fire risk level was rated at 3 in the Teltow-Fläming region - which translates to "moderate threat".

The Brandenburg Natural Landscapes Association, considering the situation's stability, decided to authorize the release of resources. Following this, the Commission shall adopt the following decision: to deem the area safe for civilians and allow the gradual return of normal activities. Despite the progress, it's crucial to remain vigilant and closely monitor any potential flare-ups.
