Veteran RTL news anchor Peter Kloeppel, aged 65, is set to receive a prestigious media accolade. The special prize of the "Robert Geisendörfer Prize" 2024 will be bestowed upon him for his years of dedication to journalism as the lead host of "RTL aktuell" and his role as the founding director of the RTL Journalism School, as per a statement released by the Common Work of Evangelical Publishing gGmbH in Frankfurt am Main yesterday.

The "Robert Geisendörfer Prize" is a distinguished award given by the Protestant Church for radio, TV, and online media. Dedicated to the memory of the Christian journalist Robert Geisendörfer (1910-1976), the prize has been around since 1983. It recognizes accomplishments that foster social responsibility consciousness and enhance mutual respect between genders. The special award pays homage to a remarkable artistic achievement. Kloeppel will collect his award on October 8 in Hamburg. The other honorees have not been revealed thus far.
