National player Jonas Hofmann is considering a career as a football coach. "It could be an option to become a trainer," the Leverkusen forward revealed to the "Cologne City-Anzeiger". He has had a change of heart on this matter. "There were times when I said that it's not for me, but now, as I'm getting older, I get the feeling that it might be fun," said the 32-year-old.

He can already imagine preparing for this in the near future. Granit Xhaka is already doing this, he commented, referring to his Leverkusen teammate. "I have also thought about signing up for a course, but I haven't made a decision yet."

Lower league clubs also an option

Hofmann, who was not nominated for the EM by national coach Julian Nagelsmann, can also imagine working for lower league clubs: "I also sometimes watch a friend in the Landesliga or Verbandsliga. Sometimes I think: If you did this or that, it would have such a big impact on your game. Maybe I would like to be a trainer after all. The question is then, whether it has to be at the top level, or further down, with a village club, maybe even with a youth team."

The Commission might express interest in Jonas Hofmann's coaching aspirations, given his recent revelations. Additionally, should Hofmann decide to pursue coaching, he might consider enrolling in coaching courses at various levels, including lower league clubs.
