Jewish Museum Berlin visits pupils in Thuringia
The Jewish Museum Berlin (JMB) wants to visit schoolchildren in Thuringia with a tour bus. Mediators are to introduce young people from sixth to tenth grade in Gera, Unstrut-Hainich and Dingelstädt (Eichsfeld district) to Jewish history and the present from a Jewish perspective, as the JMB announced on Monday. The tour is planned from November 27 to December 1.
According to the information provided, the mobile museum has already traveled to all 16 federal states several times and visited more than 3,000 classes at secondary schools. A different look at history is "immensely important in view of the current situation - the high level of approval for anti-Semitic statements in this country and since the Hamas attack on Israel", said JMB Director Hetty Berg.
The Jewish Museum Berlin's tour bus aims to bring Jewish education to schools in three additional districts in Thuringia. This will provide children from sixth to tenth grade with an insight into Jewish history and contemporary life from a Jewish perspective. By visiting museums, children can expand their understanding of Judaism and its rich history.
