Political crime - Jewish memorial in Berlin-Steglitz smeared

In Berlin-Steglitz, unknown individuals defaced a Jewish monument. According to a police spokesperson, there was a political inscription on the memorial. The officers discovered the damage in the late afternoon on Saturday. They made the antisemitic statements on the mirror surface of the monument unrecognizable, as reported.

The state criminal investigation office of the police has taken over further investigations. The memorial with mirrored panels on Hermann-Ehlers-Platz in Berlin-Steglitz points to a former synagogue in the courtyard of a neighboring house and commemorates the deportations of Berlin Jews.
