Jena with a resounding victory in the national cup: Erfurt out
FC Carl Zeiss Jena has advanced to the semi-finals of the Thuringian state cup with a resounding victory. The regional soccer league team won 6:0 (3:0) at SV Wüstheuterode on Saturday. Jan Dahlke shone with a treble. Co-favorites Rot-Weiß Erfurt, on the other hand, were eliminated in the quarter-finals. The Erfurt side lost 3:5 (1:1/0:1) to ZFC Meuselwitz after a penalty shoot-out. SV SCHOTT Jena booked their semi-final ticket with a 4:0 (1:0) win at Wismut Gera. FC Thüringen Weida won 3:0 (0:0) at TSV Motor Gispersleben.
FC Carl Zeiss Jena's impressive form continues as they secure their place in the national cup semifinals. Despite Rot-Weiß Erfurt being co-favorites, they were unfortunate to be eliminated, failing to advance past ZFC Meuselwitz in the quarter-finals of the National Cup.
