Jan Bollinger new chairman of the AfD parliamentary group

Jan Bollinger has been elected as the new chairman of the AfD parliamentary group in the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament. He replaces Michael Frisch, who announced his resignation from the parliamentary group following the decision on Wednesday in Mainz. "It is regrettable that elected representatives cannot accept democratically made decisions and agreed elections," said Bollinger on the move. "In this respect, I meet the resignation with incomprehension." According to the parliamentary group, MP Martin Louis-Schmidt also announced his resignation.

Jan Bollinger's election as the new chairman of the AfD parliamentary group has sparked discussions within other political parties in Parliament. Despite the resignations of Bollinger's predecessor, Michael Frisch, and MP Martin Louis-Schmidt, the AfD continues to maintain a significant presence in the Rhineland-Palatinate state Parliament's parties.
