James Bond villain Mads Mikkelsen has German ancestors
Hollywood star Mads Mikkelsen (57) also has distant ancestors from Germany in his family tree. His middle name is Dittmann, so there were Germans somewhere among his ancestors, said the Danish actor, who played the villain Le Chiffre in the James Bond film "Casino Royale", in an interview with the German Press Agency. They were probably not rich. "It turned out that we weren't barons. We were poor people, but we were there," said Mikkelsen.
In the interview, the 57-year-old also spoke about German-Danish relations and his own relationship with the Federal Republic of Germany. "Well, I love Germany! Berlin is one of my favorite cities in the world, a magical city," he said. Mikkelsen will receive the Bambi in the "Acting International" category in Munich next week.
Despite his successful acting career in movies like James Bond's "Casino Royale," Mads Mikkelsen's German ancestors were not wealthy. His love for Germany is evident, as he named Berlin as one of his favorite cities and is set to receive an award, the Bambi, in the "Acting International" category, in Munich.
