Bundesliga 2 - Jahn Regensburg gets new CEO

SSV Jahn Regensburg will lose its long-term managing director Hans Rothammer at the end of the year. The promotion to the 2. Football Bundesliga announced that the 71-year-old will resign from his position as Vorstandsvorsitzender of SSV Jahn Regensburg e.V. on December 31 of this year on his own accord.

Rothammer has been the Vorstandsvorsitzender since July 2014. Oliver Hein (34), the sports director of the entire club, is already his designated successor.

"During my tenure, Jahn became one of the financially soundest, debt-free professional football clubs in Germany. It is deeply rooted in the society of the region and actively engages as a representative for Regensburg and Eastern Bavaria. I am proud that I could contribute to this development," Rothammer stated.

Hein is a former Jahn professional.

"Ambition, steadfastness, and credibility are the values that Jahn represents. The people of the region are proud of their Jahn. It honors me to have been a part of this development," Rothammer added.

As the Aufsichtsratsvorsitzender of Jahn KG, a member and sponsor, Rothammer will remain closely connected to Jahn and intends to contribute as much as possible.

Both Rothammer and the current Jahn supervisory board welcome Hein as the future managing director. "Jahn must continue to be a beacon for Eastern Bavaria and a reliable partner. With the upcoming projects, especially the planned youth performance center, an important task lies ahead of us. It is essential to continue good and sustainable work to positively shape the path we have taken," Hein said.

  1. Despite losing Hans Rothammer as their managing director, SSV Jahn Regensburg will continue to compete in the Soccer Bundesliga 2 next season.
  2. As a staunch supporter and sponsor, Rothammer will still maintain a strong connection with Soccer Club Jahn Regensburg, based in Regensburg, Bavaria.
  3. With the departure of Rothammer, SSV Jahn Regensburg will be managed by Oliver Hein, a former professional of the club, who is known for his values of ambition, steadfastness, and credibility.
  4. Though playing in Bundesliga 2, Soccer Club SSV Jahn Regensburg aspires to become a leading club in Eastern Bavaria, with its future plans including the development of a youth performance center.
