- Jack Black to tour stop because of Trump's "come back" joke.
After the tour stop of his band, American musician and actor Jack Black hinted at the return of Tenacious D. "We'll come back when it feels right," the 54-year-old told industry portal "Variety". And: "We need a break. Everyone needs a break sometimes."
Due to a remark by his bandmate Kyle Gass about the assassination attempt on US presidential candidate Donald Trump, Black had abruptly ended the band's current tour in mid-July. During a performance, Black had asked Gass to make a wish, to which Gass replied: "Please, next time, don't miss Trump."
In his conversation with "Variety", Jack Black emphasized his love for the band. "I love Tenacious D. It's probably my favorite job, if you can call it that. It's a work of art, it's my baby."
Tenacious D was founded by Black, who also enjoys success as an actor and comedian, and Gass at the end of the 90s. The band was originally scheduled to perform in Australia and New Zealand throughout July, with US tour dates announced for the fall.
The United States of America served as the location for Tenacious D's planned tour, which included performances in Australia and New Zealand. Jack Black mentioned in his interview with Variety that they needed a break from performing, stating, "We need a break. Everyone needs a break sometimes."
