Italy's governing party remains indifferent following reports of Nazi-related incidents at a youth organization.
Last week, "Fanpage" uncovered some troubling footage from undercover operations at the National Youth organization connected to Giorgia Meloni's political party. The videos show individuals hailing "Sieg Heil" and performing the fascist salute during gatherings.
The Democratic Party (PD) has spoken out against these findings, with deputy Michela Di Biase sharing her concern, "These images serve as a glorification of fascism. We have young people being groomed to desecrate our nation's history with bloodshed and oppression."
Prime Minister Meloni was once part of the youth wing of the MSI party, which was established by followers of the fascist dictator Benito Mussolini. At 19, she took on a leadership role within Azione Studentesca, whose symbol is the Celtic cross, a notable symbol used by extremists across Europe. Back then, she labeled Mussolini as a "decent politician." However, later on, she attempted to distance herself from her party's dark history rooted in fascism.
