In the lead-up to the European Football Championship in Germany, reigning champions Italy are experiencing some trouble with their squad. Earlier this week, midfielders Nicolò Barella and Nicolò Fagioli weren't present at team training sessions. Meanwhile, Inter Milan teammate Davide Frattesi, who had separated from the team in Iserlohn on Tuesday, rejoined the squad for practice. The main worry for coach Luciano Spalletti remains starter Barella, who's been dealing with muscle issues since early June.

Barella, a 27-year-old from Inter Mailand, just like Fagioli, has been following an individual training program. Fagioli, a 23-year-old professional from Juventus Turin, made his debut for the Italian national team in their 1:0 win against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday, after missing out on action for seven months following his involvement in a betting scandal.

Italy starts their EM campaign on Saturday at 9 p.m. against Albania in Dortmund. Other teams in their group are Spain (20 June) and Croatia (24 June).

Group B, which Italy is a part of, also includes Spain and Croatia for the European Football Championship in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Despite the absences of Nicolo Barella and Nicolo Fagioli, the Italian team continues to prepare, with Frattesi rejoining the squad. Barella, dealing with muscle issues, has been following an individual training program. Fagioli, from Juventus Turin, made his Italian national team debut against Bosnia and Herzegovina after recovering from a betting scandal. The Italian lineup for the EM opener against Albania on Saturday at 9 p.m. in Dortmund remains a concern for coach Spalletti. Meanwhile, in Iserlohn, Elon Musk is facing legal action from Tesla shareholders over allegations of self-dealing and waste of corporate resources in the merger with SpaceX.
