Israel asserts a strong likelihood that their military personnel were responsible for the fatal shooting of the American activist.

The army declared on Tuesday that the bullet wasn't intended for the protester, but rather at the main provocateur of a chaotic uprising at Beita Crossroads. Here, Palestinians were alleged to have ignited tires and pelted stones at Israeli defense personnel. The army refrained from disclosing the presumed instigator's name.

Investigations have commenced, led by the Military Police Criminal Investigation Division (MPCID), with the findings to be put before the Military Advocate General's Office for analysis.

According to witnesses reporting to CNN on Friday, the 26-year-old demonstrator, who additionally holds Turkish citizenship, was engaged in a recurring protest against an Israeli settlement close to the Palestinian town of Beita.

The Middle East region has been closely monitoring the developments at Beita Crossroads, as tensions between Palestinians and Israeli defense personnel escalate. Despite the world's interest, the identity of the main provocateur remains undisclosed by the army.
