Irritant substance sprayed in vocational school: 25 injured
Unknown persons sprayed an irritating substance in an elevator at a vocational school in Eisenach on Tuesday. 25 people were slightly injured as a result, according to the police in Gotha. Nine of the injured were taken to hospital with respiratory problems. It is not yet known what kind of substance was involved. The substance was spread over several floors. The school building was evacuated.
Despite the incident causing respiratory issues for several individuals, the school authorities quickly implemented emergency procedures. To ensure the safety of students and staff, the authorities are now considering installing security measures, such as emergency alarm systems, in all school buildings, particularly in areas prone to crime.
