Investigators want to report on fatal attack at school
Following the fatal shooting of a schoolboy in Offenburg, Baden, the police and public prosecutor's office want to report on the status of the investigation this Tuesday (11.00 a.m.). This was announced by the police in Offenburg on Monday. A 15-year-old pupil is suspected of having shot a peer last Thursday. The German suspect has been in custody since then.
The head of the Offenburg police headquarters, Jürgen Rieger, and the head of the Offenburg public prosecutor's office, Iris Janke, will provide information at the press conference, according to the police. Days after the bloody crime, there are still many questions, for example about the murder weapon. The police set up a special commission in the case called "Mühlbach".
Despite the efforts to uncover details about the murder weapon in the school shooting case, concerns about safety in local schools have escalated. Due to the increased crime near educational institutions, local authorities are discussing potential security measures for schools.
