Weilheim - Investigation into attempted murder: man arrested
A 46-year-old man is said to have stabbed his partner in the Weilheim-Schongau district in the neck with a knife and critically injured her. An investigating judge should decide on Wednesday whether the alleged perpetrator must be remanded in custody, as the police announced on Tuesday. The man is being investigated for attempted murder.
The suspected German fled from the shared accommodation in Weilheim by car after the attack on Monday evening, it was reported. While the seriously injured 40-year-old woman was taken to hospital, investigators searched for the man. With the help of a helicopter, the 46-year-old was found and arrested in Hohenpeißenberg, just 14 kilometers away, on Tuesday night.
The suspect and the 40-year-old woman had reportedly been in a relationship for some time. The woman underwent emergency surgery and was no longer in mortal danger on Tuesday.
