Robbery - Investigation: German killed in Costa Rica
The public prosecutor's office in Neubrandenburg is investigating a German man who was allegedly killed in a robbery in Costa Rica. The 32-year-old last lived in Waren in the Mecklenburg Lake District and is believed to have been shot during a robbery on the night of December 1, a spokeswoman for the public prosecutor's office announced on Tuesday. This was first reported by NDR.
So far there is no suspect. The proceedings initiated are directed against unknown persons for robbery resulting in death. The Neubrandenburg public prosecutor's office is investigating because the victim was German.
The spokeswoman was unable to provide further details in order to protect the bereaved. The man's body will be transferred to Germany - it was not possible to say exactly when. The Neubrandenburg district court has also ordered an autopsy.
