Investigation continues after hand grenade discovery
Investigations are continuing following the discovery of a functioning hand grenade in the busy Hauptwache S-Bahn and U-Bahn station in Frankfurt city center. A spokesperson for the Frankfurt public prosecutor's office said on Monday that information had been received and was being processed. No details could be given on the number and quality of the leads. The hand grenade was discovered on Tuesday morning last week in the B-level of the Hauptwache. The police are searching for a suspect, an unknown male person, who is said to have placed the hand grenade in the area of the B-level and then fled on foot.
Amidst the ongoing investigation, it's crucial to ensure emergency exit routes in crowded areas like Hauptwache station remain clear, especially during potential emergencies involving traffic or railroad disruptions. To prevent any further incidents, traffic and railroad authorities should be notified immediately if any suspicious objects are found.
