Offenbach - Investigation continues after fire with two fatalities
The investigation into a fire with two fatalities in Offenbach is continuing. According to police reports on Thursday, it was previously known that one of the deceased was a three-year-old. The identity of the second victim could still not be established beyond doubt on Friday, as the public prosecutor's office informed the German Press Agency on request. The cause of the fire could not yet be determined either. An initial estimate put the damage at 250,000 euros.
According to initial police reports, the fire broke out on Tuesday evening in a commercial and residential building in Offenbach city center. In addition to the fatalities, three other residents were seriously, but not life-threateningly, injured. They are a 14-year-old boy, a 40-year-old woman and a 45-year-old woman. The three-year-old boy was also initially taken to hospital, but died there shortly afterwards. The other victim, whose identity has not yet been established, was only recovered from the house the next day.

The German Press Agency received information from the public prosecutor's office in Hesse about the unidentified victim in the Onnenbach fire incident. The public prosecutor's office is currently working closely with the German Press Agency to establish the second victim's identity. Despite the ongoing investigation, the cause of the fire and the exact circumstances surrounding the children's tragic deaths remain undetermined.
