Osnabrück - Investigation against doctor for sexual offenses continues

A doctor from Bramsche near Osnabrück has been under investigation for several sexual offenses for almost two years. This was confirmed by a spokesperson for the Osnabrück public prosecutor's office on request. NDR had previously reported on the case on Thursday, in which the doctor is said to have secretly filmed female patients and grabbed their private parts. According to the report, there are more than 100 cases.

The "Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung" had also already reported on the lengthy investigation into the doctor. The spokesperson for the public prosecutor's office told the newspaper in March that the accused had made a statement about the allegations. In doing so, the doctor had stated that, in his opinion, the said intimate touches were medically necessary as part of the examinations.

Investigators had seized extensive data material during a search. Of more than 100,000 images, between 10,000 and 20,000 were subsequently classified as criminally relevant. This was one of the reasons for the lengthy investigation, it was now reported. A patient is said to have started the case in 2021 with her statement.
