The shoot for the upcoming seasons of the popular ARD prime-time show "Watzmann Ermittelt" has been disrupted by the unusual weather conditions in South Germany. Due to the rain and cold, the production team had to modify a critical scene as stated by the press agency for the show on a recent Wednesday. Actress Katharina Leonore Goebel, portraying Commissioner Sophia Strasser, expressed her frustration with the weather by saying, "It's been raining and very cold since we began filming, and considering how cold it's been, this season is particularly chilly."

One significant issue arose when a storm caused a river in the Berchtesgaden region to overflow, making it impossible to film a climactic scene near a gravel pit due to the risk of collapse. Goebel praised the quick thinking of the production team to replace the location with a dry attic for the shoot. "The production team and the crew are incredibly skilled. Thanks to their expertise in lighting, set design, camera use, and other technical aspects, a loft now makes for an ideal setting for the showdown," said Goebel.

Peter Marton, better known as Detective Jerry Paulsen, expressed his excitement about the start of the sixth season. "We're following a familiar routine, working within a structured framework, enjoying a daily pick-up for filming, wearing our masks, and being with our close-knit film family both on-screen and behind the camera in the mountains, all of which is just delightful and surprising," said Marton.

Besides filming, Katharina Leonore Goebel is actively searching for a new apartment in Berlin. The 34-year-old is currently on the hunt for a new place to call home, considering the tight rental market. "I'll be out of my current apartment soon. I'm trying to be realistic in the current market, but it would be great to have a bright loft with a balcony if possible," said Goebel.

"Watzmann Ermittelt" is a significant hit on the ARD prime-time schedule, ranking as one of the second most popular shows in 2023 with an average viewership of three million and a market share of 13.6%. The reruns of the show are currently airing on Wednesdays at 6:50 pm on the First channel.
