A group of young people waving a rainbow flag were reportedly harassed and spat at in a homophobic and transphobic attack on Berlin's Alexanderplatz. A 15-year-old and two young men and two women were filming videos for an internet portal at the World Time Ball on Monday, when a second group of several people verbally abused them in a queerphobic manner. The perpetrators then fled the scene. The state's criminal police department for political crimes is investigating.

The harassment experienced by the group at Alexanderplatz can be classified as a disturbing example of queerphobic extremism. Addressing such incidents is crucial in promoting inclusivity and equality across society.
