Over two months have passed since the devastating bus crash on the A9 motorway between Leipzig that claimed the lives of four individuals. The ongoing investigation in finding the cause of this horrific accident is yet to be released by the Leipzig Public Prosecutor's Office, as stated by a representative. It is anticipated that it might take weeks more to finalize the results.

On the 27th of March, a Flixbus, carrying 54 passengers, veered off the road and flipped on its side on the A9. Tragically, four casualties emerge, including a 47-year-old woman from Poland, a 43-year-old lady from Ukraine, a 20-year-old Indonesian resident in Berlin, and a 19-year-old woman from Bavaria. Among the injured, 34 people were severely hurt.

The bus was heading from Berlin to Zurich. The police disclosed that most of the passengers were not German nationals. A total of 18 were Germans, and the remaining 36 hailed from over 20 other nations such as Peru, New Zealand, China, Canada, and the United States. The accident occurred approximately two hours post departure, between the Wiedemar junction and Schkeuditzer Kreuz. The preliminary findings demonstrate that no other vehicle was involved.

The public prosecutor's office is presently probing the bus driver. The 62-year-old male driver is suspected of negligent manslaughter and negligent cause of bodily harm. The spokesperson for the involved authority refrained from providing any details about his questioning. The bus company shares that the driver followed all driving and rest norms.

Furthermore, a professional accident analysis is being compiled to comprehend the crash entirely. This encompasses withdrawing information about the speed of the bus at the precise moment of the collision and concluding if there were other determinants adding to the incident. The testimonies of the bus's passengers will be assessed, as well as the vehicle being inspected by professionals for possible technical glitches.
