Law Enforcement Conducts Search Operation - Inquiries at the Islamic Center.

On Wednesday morning, special forces from the police conducted searches in the rooms of the German-speaking Muslim Community (DMG) in Braunschweig and other locations in Berlin. The total number of locations searched amounts to eight, as per a statement from the Lower Saxony Interior Ministry spokesperson. These measures are being taken to enforce a club ban. The spokesperson noted that "this ban prohibits the continuation of the club's activities by its former members and any activity on behalf of the banned club by others". He refused to give any further information, citing the ongoing investigations. The media outlets North German Broadcasting Corporation and "Spiegel" were among the first to report on the raid. We can expect more details about the raid and the club ban later in the day. Previous to this incident, the Lower Saxony Interior Ministry had identified the DMG in Braunschweig as a connecting point for Salafist preachers.
