Wiesbaden - Injured baby left alone in car after accident

Passers-by discovered a seriously injured baby in an abandoned car in Wiesbaden on Saturday night. At around 2:00 a.m., several witnesses heard a loud bang, as the police reported in the evening. When they went there, they found a car lying on its side. Inside was the baby, who was immediately attended to by first aiders. It was taken to hospital. According to initial medical assessments, the baby's injuries were not life-threatening.

There was initially no trace of the driver of the car involved in the accident. However, he turned himself in at the police station during the course of the day and stated that he had been the driver in the accident. The 25-year-old was arrested and is now facing criminal proceedings, a police spokesman said in the evening. He did not initially say whether the 25-year-old was related to the baby.
