Inflation rate in NRW falls to 3 percent
The inflation rate in North Rhine-Westphalia has fallen to its lowest level for more than two years. Inflation in Germany's most populous state was 3 percent in November, according to the State Statistical Office on Wednesday. In October, it had amounted to 3.1 percent.
Inflation thus fell for the third month in a row and reached its lowest level since June 2021. The decline is due to household energy, among other things. Heating oil and district heating became cheaper. In a monthly comparison, consumer prices fell by 0.3% in November.
