Consumer prices - Inflation in Bavaria at 2.7 percent
Inflation in Bavaria was 2.7 percent in June. It remained at the same level as in May, as the Bavarian Statistical Office announced based on preliminary data. The Statistical Federal Office will announce the Germany-wide inflation later in the day. It had previously been 2.4 percent on an annual basis and lower than in Bavaria.
In the Free State, the price of light heating oil increased above-average strongly. Its price rose by 8.9 percent. The increase was above-average in the education sector as well, with 9.6 percent. In the catering and accommodation services sector, it was 7.0 percent, in housing additional costs 4.8 percent. The average net cold rents rose by 2.6 percent - slightly below the general inflation.
On the other hand, food and alcohol-free beverages became cheaper by 1.9 percent on average. Household energy as a whole became cheaper even by 2.5 percent, although the strongly increased heating oil also falls into this category. Other price reductions apparently offset its effect.
