Inflation and crisis do not slow down Bavarian tourism
Despite inflation and the uncertain global situation, tourism in Bavaria is flourishing like never before. In Bavaria's cities, even more guests have been counted so far this year than in 2019, the last year before the coronavirus pandemic, as the managing directors of several tourism associations reported on Monday at the Tourism Day in Munich. Munich is even heading for a record. The situation is only slightly worse in rural regions. Demand for tickets for the Upper Bavarian and Swabian ski resorts has also been very high so far.
Agriculture Minister Michaela Kaniber has now also been responsible for tourism since the new state government was formed. The CSU politician assumes that the uncertain world situation can even be beneficial for tourism in a safe and stable region like Bavaria: "People are very, very stressed," said Kaniber. "People are longing for relaxation tourism, but also wellness and health tourism. We can offer all of this in Bavaria."
The surge in tourism in Bavaria, despite inflation and the global crisis, highlights the region's resilience and appeal as a tourist destination. Moreover, Agriculture Minister Michaela Kaniber sees potential opportunities for growth in tourism, as people seek relaxation and wellness in safe and stable regions like Bavaria.
