Ostholstein District - Individuals steal strawberries valued at several thousand euros.
Mysterious individuals made off with around 400 kilograms of strawberries from a farm in Malente, Kreis Ostholstein, during the night on Sunday. They selected eight rows made up of 110-meter-long strawberry plants. The authorities shared this information on Monday. According to the current rate of 11 euros per kilogram for the fruit in question, the economic repercussions are estimated to be approximately 4,000 euros.
Just last Thursday, unidentified individuals attacked several locked "strawberry houses" located on supermarket parking lots in Lübeck and Kreis Ostholstein, making off with more than 400 strawberry shells filled with strawberries and jars of strawberry jam, resulting in damages of over 3,000 euros, according to the police. On Friday, two men aged 19 and 39 were taken into custody as suspects for these thefts. During a search, the authorities were able to recover a significant portion of the stolen goods, they revealed.
