A 12-year-old scooter rider and a 66-year-old cyclist encountered a serious incident near Hasselroth-Neuenhaßlau (Main-Kinzig district). According to police reports from last night, the boy was riding his e-scooter off the dirt path onto the bike path and didn't see the approaching cyclist in time. They ended up colliding forcefully.
Regardless of wearing a helmet, the elderly cyclist sustained severe facial wounds and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Due to severe respiratory issues and head injuries, the young e-scooter rider required a helicopter to get to the hospital. This unfortunate incident happened during the afternoon on Sunday. The estimated damages to property are approximately 600 euros, as reported earlier by Hessenschau.
The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision between the scooter rider and the cyclist near Hasselroth-Neuenhaßlau. Upon arrival at the hospital, the cyclist requested the police to file a report due to the severe nature of the accident.
