Following the unveiling of racist lyrics at a shooting gathering in Löningen near Cloppenburg, a few accused individuals have resigned from the shooting club. This decision was made to safeguard the club from additional harm, as stated in a meeting with the Bunnen shooting club's board on Tuesday night. The implicated parties have also notified the authorities.

"We endorse this verdict and accept the withdrawal," the board proclaimed. Moreover, the club has not booted out any additional members. Individuals spotted in videos chanting the racist lyrics have ascertained to the board that they didn't comprehend the jargon because of the rowdy music. They were just singing ordinary lyrics. Any further suspects identified by the State Security will be considered for expulsion from the club.

This internal matter came to light on Friday. At the Pentecost Monday shooting event, insults like "Foreigners out" and "Germany for the Germans" were allegedly chanted to Gigi D'Agostino's "L'amour toujours." The Bunnen shooting club publicly disassociated itself from the occurrence. Once again, the board highlighted that most festival attendees didn't sing the slogans.

The club is keen to accept responsibility. "We take this matter seriously, kindly trust us," the board expressed in their message. Conferences with young members of the club and volunteers about handling right-wing extremism are planned. The club has already liaised with the State Security. Furthermore, an ethical code was authored at the board meeting, "which all club members should acknowledge and abide by."

Nevertheless, the club also denounced the media coverage and online posts. Misinformation was disseminated, claiming that the entire festival tent had sung the slogans. Unfiltered clips from the event were disseminated. "Right now, families, friendships, neighborhoods, and the minds of younger individuals are fracturing," the board stated. The board additionally stressed that some of the individuals, who the State Security is exploring, are still minors. "We appeal to the media, including social media, to lessen the pressure from the reporting," the board appealed.
