- Individual undertakes a day-long journey to visit every subway station in Hamburg.
Hopping on Hamburg's U-Bahn stations: An Austrian man named Andreas Dick is attempting to swiftly visit every U-Bahn station in Hamburg. He commenced his speedy expedition at Jungfernstieg, with a total of 93 stations to conquer using a meticulously planned route.
Mapped out with vibrant pens
Although he approaches this challenge with a sporty spirit, he doesn't anticipate a racing heartbeat, Dick quipped with a chuckle. "I didn't use a computer to plan the route, I marked it on a map using vibrant pens." The objective of this U-Bahn journey in Germany's second-largest city is merely to determine the time it takes to visit all stations. Dick also pointed out, "It's a fun way to explore a city."
This isn't the first challenge Dick has undertaken: He's completed similar "complete tours" in 17 cities, such as Vienna, Berlin, and Lyon. In 2016, he went on a tram journey in Bremen. However, this isn't an official record attempt. According to Hochbahn, no one has attempted this unofficially before. Therefore, there was no benchmark time. Dick predicted that his expedition through the Hanseatic city would take somewhere between 6 to 7 hours.
Despite using vibrant pens to map out his route, Dick acknowledged, "The Virgin station isn't actually a part of Hamburg's U-Bahn network." On a lighter note, he mused, "If I were to name a fictitious U-Bahn station, it might be titled 'The Virgin'."
