- Individual meets unfortunate end following collision during retro automobile competition.
During a classic car rally in Riesa, part of the Meißen district, a 67-year-old competitor met his unfortunate end in a crash. According to the Dresden Police Department, he was on a motorcycle and had a collision with a 57-year-old rider while trying to pass. Both motorcycles went off the road to the right and ended up in a ditch. One of the bikes ignited.
Emergency responders rushed to aid the two riders, but the elder individual didn't make it, succumbing to his critical wounds right there. The surviving rider was transferred to a hospital with serious injuries. The police are urging anybody who might have witnessed the accident and could offer insights into the motorcyclists' riding habits to step forward.
The concerned authorities at the Dresden Police Department have initiated an investigation, as the incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Police Directorate in the Meißen district. Witnesses with information about the accident are requested to contact the Police Directorate to assist in the ongoing investigation.
